Aston Martin has unveiled the new Vanquish, marking the most powerful flagship in the company’s history. This model, succeeding the DBS, is described as a “technical masterpiece,” taking the top spot in the front-engine sports car lineup. Contrary to downsizing trends, the new Vanquish retains a V12 with twin turbochargers. With a top speed of 345 km/h, it becomes the fastest production Aston Martin to date.

The company promises an “unprecedented combination of refined comfort, supercar performance, and flawless dynamics.” Exclusivity is also emphasized: only 1000 Vanquish units will be produced annually.

Under the hood, the 5.2-liter V12 engine with twin turbos delivers 835 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. It pairs with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels through a high-friction differential (e-diff). The e-diff, integrated with ESP, can switch from an open to a locked state in 135 milliseconds.

The body is made of aluminum, with additional components increasing lateral stiffness by 75% compared to the DBS 770 Ultimate. The car features a stiffer engine cross brace and new Bilstein DTX dampers with fast response and a wide range of stiffness, allowing the car to adjust its characteristics based on driver preference.

The Vanquish boasts thicker anti-roll bars, a redesigned electric power steering system, and a new ESP system that uses data from numerous sensors to predict optimal grip levels and respond to instantaneous instability.

Standard equipment includes carbon-ceramic brakes with 410-mm front and 360-mm rear discs, offering improved performance and heat resistance up to 800°C compared to other Aston Martins.

The design of the Vanquish draws inspiration from motorsport and iconic models from the past and present. The sports car features an extended hood with Formula-1-style vents for cooling the V12, matrix headlights, and a pronounced splitter. Side features include hidden door handles and 21-inch wheels fitted with unique Pirelli P Zero tires.

At the rear, the Vanquish deviates from tradition with a so-called Kamm tail featuring seven LED “blades” in the taillights, a large diffuser, and four stainless steel exhaust pipes. On request, these can be replaced with titanium tips to save 10.5 kg.

The two-seat interior, trimmed in Alcantara and semi-aniline leather, resembles that of the Vantage and DB12. It includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a multimedia screen of the same size.

The driver’s seat can be fitted with Performance carbon fiber seats with a low position. The sound system is a Bowers & Wilkins setup with 15 speakers. Wooden inserts are available as an optional upgrade.

Pricing for the new Vanquish has not yet been announced. First customer deliveries are scheduled for Q4 2024.
