When we were kids, each of us had a dream of how cool it would be to be an adult. We imagined we could sleep till noon, wander the streets all night, wear whatever we wanted, and binge-watch movies endlessly. But something went wrong. Suddenly, being an adult meant not only freedom but also responsibilities, fatigue, meetings, bills, and way less sleep.

Imagine you decided to find yourself on top of a mountain. You climb toward this mystical place of power, struggle through challenges, almost give up, but at the last moment, you push through. Now you’re standing at the summit, but instead of dancing some ritual, you just want to sleep, eat, drink, and, honestly, lie on your favorite couch with a Terry Pratchett book in a cozy bathrobe.
What happened? Growing up. That’s the moment you realize you’re not chasing childish dreams anymore—you’re a free person, but you often forget to use this freedom. Why? The endless race for “success” and the perfect life keeps you from simply enjoying life as you want. But adulthood was supposed to give us the right to this freedom.
Remember what you wanted when you dreamed about being an adult. Riding a red bike? Go buy that bike. Wanted to spend a whole day doing nothing? Give yourself that day. Don’t just promise yourself; do it. And not just once.
You’re an adult now, and you don’t need anyone’s permission. Take this freedom and learn to enjoy it.
