The world of technology moves so fast that sometimes you barely blink before your usual home gadget almost turns into a spy robot. This time, Xiaomi has shown how a home camera can be your personal assistant, bodyguard, and even nanny – all in one device.
The Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition isn’t just a camera. It’s a full surveillance hub, capable of monitoring children, elderly family members, and even pets with supercomputer-like precision. Xiaomi claims it’s their most advanced home camera yet, and after a first look at its specs, you can believe it.
Inside, it houses two sensors: a 12MP telephoto lens with autofocus and an 8MP ultra-wide module with a 127° field of view. For night recording, it offers color night vision and 10 infrared lights – the camera won’t miss a single detail, even if the room is pitch-dark. If you want to get a closer look, you can use the 3x optical zoom or 12x hybrid zoom.
The main feature is the AI surveillance system. The camera can detect falls, track activity, notice unusual behavior, and even determine what a child is doing – studying or getting distracted by a smartphone. For the forgetful, there’s text search: type a keyword, and the exact moment appears on the screen.
Two-way communication via noise-canceling microphones and a built-in speaker allows interaction with family members remotely. The motorized mount offers a 360° horizontal and 180° vertical view – no angle is missed.
Xiaomi also prioritized security: Wi‑Fi 6, integration with HyperOS Connect and Mi Home, a protected Mijia chip for data encryption, and a physical privacy shutter. Data can be stored on a microSD up to 256 GB, in the cloud, or on a NAS – the choice is yours.
The Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition is priced at 799 yuan. Sales in China start April 8, which means you’ll soon have a personal “eye” that sees everything.
