Toyota GAZOO Racing (TGR), the experienced team that has brought us numerous successful racing projects, has released the GR Yaris with new and improved technologies, derived from experiences in races such as the Super Taikyu Series and the Japanese Rally Championship. Every element of the car has been meticulously refined to make it more aggressive, faster, and more thrilling, all while maintaining daily driving comfort.

The main upgrade concerns the transmission: the GR Yaris now comes equipped with the improved GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission. The enhanced settings allow for quicker responses to driver inputs, improved throttle response, and optimized shift timing for full-throttle sprints. This means you can enjoy instant acceleration and a complete connection with the car every time you press the pedal.

The suspension and steering system have undergone significant improvements. Reinforced chassis bolts, enhanced suspension, and precise steering feedback — all designed with professional drivers to bring the road feel as close as possible to that of a race car. The GR Yaris is available in Japan, with prices starting at ¥3,560,000 JPY (about $24,886 USD) for the RC model with a manual transmission and up to ¥5,330,000 JPY (about $37,261 USD) for the automatic RZ “High Performance” model. A note for those waiting for this car: deliveries will start on May 6.
