It’s time to pick up not just any joystick, but the real gaming one. A recent study from University College London has revealed that video games might be a more effective way to relax than sex.

The study involved nearly 300 men, and the results were intriguing. 29% of the participants reported that video games are excellent for stress relief. In comparison, 74% said that talking with friends is their main way to calm down, and 31% admitted to eating during stressful times to ease their nerves.

When it comes to sex as a stress reliever, only 27% of men were in favor. Out of 240 women surveyed, most preferred reading, talking with loved ones, or doing household chores. Only 11% considered sex a remedy for stress.

The study concluded that gamers experience more effective recovery and relaxation compared to non-gamers. Additionally, a 2010 report by Made of Us indicated that people who play violent video games train their minds to handle stress better, becoming more resilient and quick-thinking in tense situations.

So, if you’re feeling stressed, it might be time to swap your evening routine for a gaming session. Grab that joystick and relax!
