Important questions we forget to ask ourselves

Have you ever noticed how the world changes year after year? How new technologies and conveniences increasingly replace the simple joys of life that once brought us real happiness.

Have you ever noticed how the world changes year after year? How new technologies and conveniences increasingly replace the simple joys of life that once brought us real happiness. The television entered our home — and we forgot how to read books. The car arrived at our doorstep — and we forgot how to walk. The mobile phone became an inseparable part of our lives — and we forgot how to write letters. The internet, computers, air conditioners — and suddenly we forgot how to enjoy simple things like time, nature, and the small pleasures of life.

Have you ever forgotten something important but simple? After all, it's in these things, not in the huge mansions or expensive cars, that true happiness lies. We're immersed in a world of high technology, forgetting that all these "conveniences" sometimes just distract us from real life.

How often do we forget to enjoy the moment? We're always running, rushing, achieving, forgetting to stop and just be alive. Even when we have millions, we still can't find time for ourselves, for our loved ones, or for what really matters. Our money stays in the banks, and we keep looking for ways to make more, forgetting to enjoy what we already have.

Think about it — how much of your daily time and effort goes into things that ultimately bring no satisfaction? How many things do you buy that you don't use, how much clothing in your wardrobe you never wear, how much time do you spend on gadgets without communicating with the people right next to you?

Wisdom lies in not chasing what seems important, but in learning to appreciate what truly matters. Because even when you don't see the point in something, it may actually be the most valuable thing. Like the business magnate who left billions to his wife but never understood that life is much more than just money and status. His driver realized this sooner: living is more important than having all the money in the world.

We spend 70% of our lives on things that don’t bring satisfaction. 70% of our time is spent on work we don’t love, on things we don’t need. All these “extra” functions — useless options and attributes we add to our lives, forgetting about the most important things. Just like 70% of the features in your smartphone, which you don’t need, or cars that can go faster than we require.

Use your 30% wisely! This is the 30% of your time, effort, and energy that truly belongs to you. Invest it in your health, even if you’re not feeling sick. Make the decision to be satisfied, even if you don’t have what seems important to others. Give yourself the chance to be alive and authentic, learn not just to take, but also to give. This is probably the most important thing we can do for ourselves and for those around us.

So next time you’re queuing for a new gadget or searching for an even more expensive car, ask yourself: "Will this really bring me happiness?" You could leave it all behind, stop, let go, and learn to appreciate the moment you have.
