In our society, the idea of equality is increasingly being heard — that everyone should be the same, live by the same rules, and pursue the same goals. But what happens when we try to measure everyone by the same standard? The answer is simple — we lose our individuality and uniqueness.
In our society, the idea of equality is increasingly being heard — that everyone should be the same, live by the same rules, and pursue the same goals. But what happens when we try to measure everyone by the same standard? The answer is simple — we lose our individuality and uniqueness.
Before the idea of equality emerged, society was more diverse. Each person lived according to their own values, strived for their own goals, and knew what they needed for inner balance and happiness. Diversity brought harmony and allowed people to feel like they belonged. But with the advent of the concept of equality, all of this harmony disappears.
Equality demands that everyone pursue one universal goal, without taking individual differences, desires, and needs into account. This leads to people losing touch with their own nature, with what is truly important to them. When society starts evaluating all achievements and goals equally, it becomes difficult for a person to understand what really matters to them, and what is just an imposed external standard.
The consumerist society amplifies this effect, pushing people to seek happiness in material values and external success. But the truth is that happiness doesn't come from money or outward markers of success. These things may temporarily mask the emptiness people feel when trying to conform to others' expectations.
Equality contradicts the very principle of human nature, which is always striving for self-development and the realization of unique goals. In a world where everyone is chasing the same thing, it’s hard to find true fulfillment because each of us is born for something different.
Equality shouldn't mean eliminating differences. On the contrary, it should respect and support each person's individual traits. True harmony comes when we can be ourselves, follow our own values, and not be afraid to deviate from imposed standards.
