Iconic Renault 4 Returns: A New Take on Classic Design

When it comes to iconic cars, the Renault 4 holds a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts.

When it comes to iconic cars, the Renault 4 holds a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts. This vehicle is not just a mode of transportation; it is a symbol of an era that has inspired generations for decades. Now, with its return in a new guise, it is once again capturing attention. The new Renault 4 E-Tech is not just a compact electric crossover; it is a true find for those who appreciate style and history.

The Renault 4 E-Tech pays homage to the classic R4 model, which was produced from 1961 to 1994 and achieved remarkable popularity, selling over 8.1 million units. In creating the new crossover, Renault designers retained the original's key features: a square body, elongated vertical taillights, and round headlights integrated into a rectangular "grille cover." But the similarities don't end there: a sliding fabric roof adds uniqueness to the car and allows owners to enjoy fresh air.

In terms of technical specifications, the new Renault 4 E-Tech is built on the AmpR Small (CMF-B EV) platform, providing excellent performance and energy efficiency. Inside, you will find a modern digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 7-10.1 inches, which connects to a 10.1-inch multimedia system screen, depending on the trim level. This interface makes controlling the car intuitive and straightforward.

In terms of size, the new crossover surpasses the Renault 5: it measures 4.14 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width, 1.57 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.62 meters. A spacious interior and a generous 420-liter trunk make the Renault 4 E-Tech an ideal vehicle for weekend trips or outings with friends.

The Renault 4 E-Tech will be available in two modifications, both with an electric motor and front-wheel drive. The base Urban Range version features a 120-horsepower electric motor and a 40 kWh battery, allowing it to travel 300 kilometers on a single charge. The more powerful Comfort Range version has an output of 150 hp and a 52 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 400 kilometers. Importantly, charging is quick: using a DC terminal, you can recharge from 15 to 80 percent in just half an hour.

Production of the new Renault 4 E-Tech is organized in France, with the first cars expected to hit the market in early spring 2025. This model is anticipated to become a hit among car enthusiasts looking for a stylish and functional electric crossover with a history. While prices for the model have yet to be announced, experts are confident that the demand for the Renault 4 E-Tech will be immense.
