If you think electric bikes are just bulky “helpers for lazy people,” Brompton is ready to break that stereotype. The British manufacturer has unveiled a new model that could change the way we think about city mobility — the Brompton Electric T Line, the lightest folding e-bike in the brand’s history.
The bike features an ultra-durable titanium frame, marking the first time Brompton has included titanium in its electric range. Weight? Just 31 lbs with the battery (around 24 lbs without) — almost like a regular city bike. For comparison, most e-bikes are 10–15 kg heavier. Combined with motor assistance, city riding feels light while still giving the authentic thrill of pedaling.
At the heart of the Electric T Line is Brompton’s e-Motiq system. It uses a rear hub motor, torque sensor, and removable battery to amplify your pedaling rather than replace it. The harder you pedal, the more support you get. Hills, headwinds, and stoplights are no longer a problem — but the ride experience remains real.
The 250 W motor and 345 Wh battery deliver up to 90 km (56 miles) of range on a single charge. For daily city commutes, that’s almost a week of active riding. New modes Start Assist and Walk Assist make it easier to get going or push the bike on foot, even on steep inclines.
The electronics are designed down to the smallest detail. A new handlebar display shows real-time ride data and integrates with the Brompton Electric app, available for iOS and Android. After the first 100 km, the system adapts to your riding style, optimizing battery use and predicting range more accurately.
Despite all the tech, the bike’s folding abilities remain intact: in just 20 seconds, your Brompton transforms into a compact “suitcase,” perfect for commuting, taking the subway, or small apartments.
For those who live in the city and value speed, style, and technology, the Electric T Line is more than just transport — it’s a tool for a life without compromises. It’s available now in the UK for £5,799, and launches in the US on January 27, 2026.
