Guys, if you think you’re tough enough for horror, get ready for a real test. Netflix has just released the first teaser for the new season of the anthology project ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’, and this isn’t just a series about crimes — it’s a psychological journey into the darkest corners of the human soul. The premiere is set for October 3, 2025.
At the center of the story is Ed Gein, a quiet, reclusive Plainfield resident whose horrific crimes inspired classic horror films like Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs. But creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan pose a deeper question: Are monsters born, or are they made? In Gein’s case, they believe it’s a little of both.
The role of the “Plainfield Monster” is played by Charlie Hunnam, joined in the main cast by Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, and Suzanna Son. Completing the cast are Vicky Krieps, Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, and Robin Weigert.
“I think this is the best season of the three, and it’s going to blow people’s minds,” says Brennan. Hunnam adds, “This is a truly human, honest, unflinching exploration of who Ed was and what he did. But most importantly, it’s about understanding who he was inside, not just his actions.”
The first teaser already conveys a sense of cold fear and relentless tension, showing that the series will go far beyond standard horror. There are no cheap tricks or sudden blood splashes just for shock value — this is the story of a man whose inner demons became a source of terror for an entire generation.
If you want to understand how horror legends are born and what lies behind the figure of a monster, ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’ promises to be a must-watch. Immersion into the world of Plainfield begins October 3 on Netflix. Are you ready to face darkness head-on?
