If you thought you’ve seen it all in the world of detective stories, get ready for a surprise. Netflix has just released the official teaser for the new film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third installment of Rian Johnson’s acclaimed series about the most elegant detective of our time — Benoit Blanc. And this time, everything appears darker, more mysterious, and more dramatic.

Sunny Greece is behind us — the new film is set in a mysterious small town in upstate New York. The story revolves around the murder of a charismatic but tyrannical monsignor in the local church. At first glance, the crime seems impossible, and only Benoit Blanc, once again played by Daniel Craig, can unravel this tangled mystery. He will have to team up with the local police chief to find the killer among a long list of suspects — including Hollywood’s elite.

The teaser features star-studded faces: Josh O’Connor as a troubled priest, Glenn Close as a devoted parishioner, and Josh Brolin as the murdered monsignor. Joining them are Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. No character appears to be there by chance — each has secrets, motives, and skeletons in the closet.

The teaser sets a darker and more serious tone than previous films in the series. Themes of faith, logic, and redemption intertwine with Johnson’s signature style, which skillfully blends homage to tradition with innovation. While earlier installments impressed with wit and light-hearted irony, Wake Up Dead Man promises to make you think hard as you follow Benoit Blanc’s investigation.

The film is set for a theatrical release on November 26, 2025, and will be available on Netflix starting December 12, 2025. For true detective fans, this is an event not to be missed: the good old Benoit Blanc returns to prove that even in the most complex and darkest cases, logic and observation remain paramount.

If you love intrigue, unexpected twists, and smart investigations, mark your calendar. The new Knives Out won’t just be a film — it will be a true test of your detective instincts.
