If you think family inheritances are quiet afternoons sipping tea with relatives, the trailer for A24’s new dark comedy *How To Make A Killing* is ready to shatter all your illusions. Glen Powell plays a man for whom “nothing is too far” in pursuit of his family’s wealth.

At the center of the story is Becket Redfellow, a blue-collar worker who was disowned at birth and raised outside the luxurious world of his relatives. But Becket isn’t willing to accept being denied his rightful inheritance. He takes extreme measures to become the sole heir, with a cold determination that makes him seemingly unbeatable in the art of manipulation and hidden revenge.

A key ally—or hidden threat—is Becket’s old friend, played by Margaret Qualley. She warns him that the Redfellows “are dropping like flies,” hinting that she knows more than she lets on. The rest of the star-studded cast—Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, and Ed Harris—adds even more intrigue and dark humor to the film.

*How To Make A Killing* is loosely inspired by the 1949 British classic *Kind Hearts and Coronets* by Robert Hamer, which in turn was based on Roy Horniman’s 1907 novel *Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal*. Stories of ruthless ambition, clever schemes, and moral dilemmas come alive on screen, but in a modern, darkly satirical form.

The film promises to be a treat for fans of dark humor, intrigue, and tense storytelling, where every move of the protagonist is a step along the fine line between legality and crime.

The theatrical release is set for February 20, 2026, and based on the trailer, Becket Redfellow is ready to prove that there’s no place for the weak or indecisive when it comes to claiming a fortune. If you’re ready for a merciless and hilariously hard-hitting look at the world of family inheritances, this movie is for you.
