What if you knew the date of your last day? And how would you spend the time you had left? In the UK, scientists have come closer to answering this question by creating a program ominously named the “death calculator.” This innovation uses artificial intelligence to analyze heart data and predict your chances of living another decade.
What if you knew the date of your last day? And how would you spend the time you had left? In the UK, scientists have come closer to answering this question by creating a program ominously named the “death calculator.” This innovation uses artificial intelligence to analyze heart data and predict your chances of living another decade.
So, what can it do? This smart calculator reads ECG data and analyzes it to estimate the likelihood of passing away within the next ten years. The system is based on medical data from nearly 190,000 people, including those who only underwent testing for a few years and those who, unfortunately, did not survive the study period.
The accuracy of these predictions is already impressive — 78%. It’s no 100% guarantee, but if the calculator says you have an increased risk of early departure, that’s something to think about.
Additionally, the “death calculator” can detect hidden genetic risks that may not yet be visible but could lead to conditions like heart failure, arrhythmia, and atherosclerosis. The developers hope their technology will soon become available to doctors worldwide, helping to prevent heart disease in time.
Are you curious to take a peek behind the curtain and see your own risk? This option might become a reality soon.
