If you thought it was over, think again. One of Apple TV+’s most beloved characters is back on the field. Yes, Ted Lasso is officially returning for its fourth season — this time with a new challenge, a new cast, and the same charm as always.
According to the latest from Apple TV+, Ted Lasso, played by the charismatic Jason Sudeikis, isn’t returning to coach the men of AFC Richmond, but… a women’s second-division soccer team! Seriously. And if you’re raising an eyebrow skeptically right now, know this isn’t a joke. It’s going to be his toughest challenge yet, and as the creators promise, the most heartfelt.
In the image that’s already made the rounds online, we see familiar faces: Juno Temple as Keeley, Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins). They’ll be joined by Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard). But there are also new additions: Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, and others. Notably, Ted’s son Henry will now be played by Grant Feely.
The official season logline sounds promising: “Ted returns to Richmond to take on his biggest challenge yet — coaching a women’s second-division soccer team. Throughout the season, Ted and the team learn to take risks without knowing what lies ahead.”
That means plenty of fun, touching moments, and, as always, a good dose of inspiration.
In case you missed it, Ted Lasso debuted in 2020 and quickly became a hit. Over three seasons, the series earned 61 Emmy nominations and won 13, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
But Ted Lasso isn’t just about soccer. It’s about people, support, believing in yourself, and how to never lose your soul, even in the toughest times.
