Ghosts are always an enigma that sparks the imagination and makes us ponder. Have you ever wondered why this topic is so captivating? Even places like the White House have been the setting for ghost stories. One of the most famous is Abraham Lincoln's spirit. He has been seen not only by ordinary people but also by historical figures such as Winston Churchill. This suggests that the phenomenon of ghosts might be much more widespread than we think. Who knows, maybe even Churchill needed a couple of cigars and some whisky when he encountered the spirit?

But what about those who haven't had direct encounters with ghosts but have felt something strange, as though someone is nearby, in the shadows? This sensation, when we feel the presence of something or someone on the edge of our perception, is not rare. And, strangely enough, such a feeling is quite explainable from a brain perspective.

Our brain, like an expert puzzle maker, often tries to piece together chaotic signals into something whole, and in moments of stress or anxiety, when we're at the brink of exhaustion or in extreme tension, "invisible helpers" may start to appear. For example, Ernest Shackleton and other explorers working in the harsh cold and isolation described such intrusions as benevolent spirits accompanying them in the toughest situations. Sometimes, these figures turn out to be something like support, not fully explainable from a scientific standpoint.

Perhaps it’s just a product of an exhausted brain that, on the edge of survival, seeks something to hold onto. Or maybe, visions are something more than just hallucinations. Those who have faced such states in real life, say, under strong alcoholic intoxication or constant stress, know that the simplest physiological reasons often lie behind these experiences.

So, when you feel someone nearby, don’t rush to think it’s a spirit from the other side. It could just be your body and brain signaling that it's time to take a break. But who knows? Maybe this is the moment when the universe decides to intervene in your life, reminding you that even in the darkest corners, we can find support.
