If you thought LEGO was just for kids, think again. Kicking off the 2026 Formula 1 season, the Swiss builder has delivered a real treat for speed and tech fans: new collectible helmets of the Scuderia Ferrari HP drivers, fully built from LEGO. And these aren’t just small shelf sets — we’re talking full-size helmets you can actually hold in your hands.
At the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were spotted in the paddock carrying massive LEGO versions of their upcoming helmets — each “replica” weighed nearly 3 kg and consisted of over 3,500 pieces. The project was designed by LEGO Certified Professional Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught and his team. Each masterpiece took around 60 hours to construct. Imagine it: a seven-time world champion and a young F1 talent literally walking through the paddock with bricks in hand — a rare blend of speed and patience you won’t see anywhere else.
What will thrill collectors most is the attention to detail in the retail sets. Charles Leclerc’s helmet (Set No. 43014) includes 886 pieces, features his driver number 16, the iconic Ferrari prancing horse, and even symbolic tributes to his father and the legend Jules Bianchi. Lewis Hamilton’s helmet (Set No. 43022) consists of 884 pieces and faithfully reproduces his unique number 44.
And yes, these sets come with an exclusive: the first official minifigures of both drivers in their red Scuderia Ferrari HP racing suits, complete with a signed plaque. This isn’t just a toy — it’s a piece of Formula 1 history you can proudly display on your shelf.
John Ho, Master Model Designer at LEGO, shared: “The helmets, with their unique shapes and intricate details, were a real challenge. We worked hard to capture every curve, every line. Seeing them come to life on track in the hands of two of the best drivers in the world is an incredibly proud moment for the entire team.”
For F1 fans and LEGO collectors, the wait won’t be long: pre-orders are already open, with the official global launch set for May 1, 2026. If you want to feel the paddock atmosphere while diving into the world of bricks, these sets are a must-have.
LEGO has once again proven that you can play like an adult. And who said speed and patience can’t coexist? Sometimes, they’re built brick by brick.
