Where Sex Is King: The Ranking of the Most Liberated Countries in the World

Many of us have wondered at least once: what is intimate life like in other countries? Good news — now we have the answer.

Many of us have wondered at least once: what is intimate life like in other countries? Good news — now we have the answer.

The website World Population Review compiled a ranking of the most sexually liberated countries in the world, based on the number of sexual partners, age at first sex, the legality of prostitution, societal attitudes toward premarital sex, and the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections. Yes, it’s all serious, but also extremely interesting.

And on the podium of sexual liberation is Australia. That’s right — it’s not just kangaroos hopping around here: the residents of this country scored an impressive 360 points. In second place is Brazil with 340 points — a country where carnival dances come with hot bodies and passionate glances. The third spot goes to Greece (335 points), where wine, sun, and ancient myths meet a fairly liberal attitude toward sex.

Fourth and fifth places go to Chile and New Zealand, with 334 and 327 points respectively. In other words, if you’re looking for adventures outside the routine, these countries know how to throw “no-strings-attached parties.”

And who’s at the other end of the scale? China and India. According to the statistics, the residents of these countries are more reserved in bed, which earned them the bottom spots in the ranking.

So next time you want to compare your “sexual exploits” with the rest of the world, you know where to look. Australia, Brazil, and Greece set the standard, while China and India remind us that calmness can also be enjoyable.

And yes, statistics are fascinating, but reality can always surprise you.
