As electric vehicles become an increasingly integral part of the automotive world, Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. EVERY1 concept, which promises to be a game-changer for the mass market. This compact and affordable electric car is designed specifically for the European market, aiming to make electric mobility accessible to a broader audience.
Volkswagen continues its ambitious strategy in the electric vehicle segment with the introduction of the ID. EVERY1 concept. Set to hit the market in 2027 with a starting price of around €20,000 (or $21,600 USD), this electric vehicle aims to disrupt the affordable EV market, offering a solution that combines modern technology, affordability, and efficiency.
ID. EVERY1 is part of a broader strategy by Volkswagen to create an “Electric Urban Car Family.” As part of this strategy, a larger model, the ID. 2all, is set to launch in 2026 at a price below €25,000. Both vehicles are built on the modular MEB platform with front-wheel drive, optimizing space and energy efficiency.
At just 3,880 mm in length, the ID. EVERY1 sits between the now-discontinued up! model and the current Polo, making it an excellent choice for urban use. Inside, there is room for four passengers and a 305-liter trunk, which is ample for comfortable city trips or weekend getaways.
But what truly makes this car appealing is the price. Volkswagen aims to offer an affordable electric vehicle that will be accessible to most buyers, which is a significant advantage compared to other, much pricier models.
Under the hood, the ID. EVERY1 features a new 70 kW (93 hp) electric motor, enabling the car to reach a top speed of 130 km/h. The estimated range is 250 km, which is more than enough for most city and suburban trips. This makes the ID. EVERY1 not only affordable but also a practical choice for daily use.
Volkswagen has also focused on the software side. The new software architecture supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, ensuring the car remains technologically up-to-date throughout its lifespan. All updates and improvements will be available to owners without needing to visit service centers.
As Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer noted, the ID. EVERY1 is “the final piece of the puzzle” in the brand’s strategy to offer a fully diversified lineup of electric vehicles. The company is confident that by 2030, it will become the world leader in EV production volume, offering models that meet the needs of every customer.
ID. EVERY1 is not just an electric car; it is part of the future in which anyone can afford to be environmentally conscious without sacrificing quality and comfort. The dream of accessible, practical electric vehicles is becoming a reality, and Volkswagen proves once again that its innovations are ready to be in the hands of everyone.
