Millions of fans around the world have been waiting for this moment, and it’s finally here: Netflix has officially released the trailer for the third and final season of the cult series “Squid Game.” The premiere is set for June 27, 2025, promising to be a major event in the entertainment world.
The first full-length trailer debuted at the Netflix Tudum 2025 festival, following a teaser that sparked interest earlier in May. And if you thought you already knew what fate awaited the main character, Gi-hun, the new trailer makes it clear — there’s still plenty of surprises ahead.
Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) is back in the games — and he’s clearly not in the best shape. He’s hit rock bottom, overwhelmed by disappointment and despair after his failed attempt to overthrow the Squid Game masterminds. But the finale is near, and once again, he faces deadly challenges.
The trailer reveals new, even more brutal games, including a gum-ball machine challenge and a team competition between red and blue. Now, success depends not only on individual skill and luck but also on teamwork — adding a fresh twist to the familiar story.
Beloved actors Wi Ha-jun, Im Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul also return, ready to prove once again that the stakes are worth it — even when it’s life or death.
Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Tudum that this season focuses on Gi-hun’s inner struggle. He’s fallen, lost everything, and now the question is whether he can overcome shame, pain, and fear to prove that even in the ruthless world of the game, there’s still room for humanity, conscience, and kindness.
“It’s a story about not breaking when it feels like everything is lost, and how even in the darkest moments, light can break through,” Hwang said.
